Apple Tong is a designer, illustrator and freelance artist. She developed great interest in drawing at a young age, and was determined to pursue her passion in art despite her congenital deafness. After graduating from secondary school, she studied for a Business & Technician Education Council National Diploma (Foundation Programme) in Design, taking courses in Fashion Design, Graphic Design and Interior Architecture.
Apple actively participates in various exhibitions, competitions and activities to promote inclusive arts to the community. In 2014, she published her picture book “The Smile of Silent Angel”, and was casted in the drama production “Gala Extraordinary – Stage of Ability 2014” produced by RTHK. In 2015, she won the First Prize in the Character Design Competition, Painting Competition and Poster Design Competition of “The 9th Hong Kong Abilympics” organised by The Hong Kong Council of Social Service. In the same year, Apple’s works were also showcased at the “ARTram Shelters” Phase 4 - 3D Painting Exhibition, and she held her first solo exhibition “See What I said” Solo Exhibition at the Citywalk Gallery in Citywalk.
