Jessica is a visually impaired artist whose art style, characterised by use of bright colours with bold contrasts, was influenced by her disability. She started learning sand painting in 2011, attracted by its awe-inspiring combination of sand, music and light in storytelling. Jessica particularly revels in the freedom sand painting afforded to her in expressing her emotions and feelings. Motivated by her passion in sand painting and her strong desire to continuously self-improve, Jessica actively seeks opportunities to hone her skills and give public performances. In 2015, she was sponsored by the “Artists with Disability Development Fund” to take a painting course in London to elevate her artistic vision and style.
Jessica is also an instructor for sand painting courses and she volunteers in her spare time. She is aspiring to become a professional sand painter and looking to collaborate with different art groups to further promote sand painting.
